Jorge “Gigante” González was the tallest Argentine basketball player in history and the first to reach the NBA. A traveler discovered it by chance in his town. He was 56 and measured 2.31 meters. The Atlanta Hawks signed him in 1988, although overweight problems did not allow him to debut.
