"Korea Loves London" Ignites Heated Excitement!
In another recent post, I talked about a fabulous exhibition taking place at Harrods in London, called"Korea Loves London".Filled with some of the most innovative Korean tech products, the exhibit attracted visitors from around the world, as they looked to fill time between sporting events.
Those who couldn't be there in person can still get in on the action. A friend in the area gave me the full rundown:
WOW!
The first words that come out of most visitors' mouths are "wow, these products are so cool!" As people approachedTRANSLOOK, an interactive display showcase, many of them first thought that it was a video clip or an image. When they found out that the product seen beneath the screen is REAL product, many were surprised and amazed!
What's Cool, We WANT
Magic Cube, a projection keyboard and multi-touch mouse grabbed many visitors' attention and an endless number of customers asked WHERE they could buy it. Even Harrods' employees came down to ask whether this product is on sale because so many customers journeyed up to the electronics floor enquiring about the Celluon Magic Cube. Many were disappointed when they heard that exhibited products can't be purchased on-site but smiles returned once they received the news that the products are available online.
How Much?
Helpers at the exhibition had to hear "How Much" endless times. Many visitors wanted to purchase the 3D glasses from Accupix and the cool outdoor jackets from Kolon Sports. Some kids told their parents to shop around at Harrods for many hours so they could play games using Accupix's 3D glasses. No wonder so many moms and dads asked the price for this product!
Everyone Loves Robots
Robots were certainly in the center of attention. Many visitors checked out the functions ofKibotand KIST robots, impressed by theirtechnology. As Kibot is a very cute educational robot, many parents wanted to purchase the robot for their children, especially for its video camera, which keeps an eye on kids while parents are out of the room.
A Fun Place for Families That Encourages Return Visits!
It was not uncommon to see familiar faces at the exhibition. Families who visited the exhibition came multiple times, especially to play with Kibot. A four-year old literally dragged her parents by the hands because she loved the robot so much! The exhibition became a place where families could have fun together. Kibot was obviously a draw but so were Accupix's 3D glasses connected to game consoles.
Celebrities Love Technology!
When one tall, dark and handsome man entered the building people's heads immediately turned. People lined up to take photographs Emmanuel Adebayor, the famous soccer player from Togo. Apparently he noticed the robots displayed by the window and, as a robot fanatic, he decided to pay a visit. He was quite amazed with the robot technology!
Korean Technology is the Best!
Many visitors commented on the advanced level of Korean technology after seeing all the products. Most of them knew about Korean technology through TVs, smartphones andcarsbut they were impressed to see so many innovative, eco-friendly Korean products in one place.
Born in Korea and raised on three different continents, I have always been enthusiastic to share the uniqueness of Korean culture and design. On top of that, the advanced level of Korean technology makes me proud to call myself Korean and motivates me to spread technology related news to more people around the world. The list of things I like (and like to do) is endless: Shopping, Gummy jellies, Lilies... and it goes on
