TVXQ talks about SHINee’s “Replay” picks F.T. Island and CNBLUE as the non-SM idol groups they’ve kept their eyes on
TVXQrecently sat down for an interview with ‘Star News’ and revealed the song they’ve always wanted from another group and their thoughts on junior idol groups.
Changminconfessed thatSHINee‘s debut track, “Replay“, was a song that he’s always wanted for TVXQ.
Changmin stated, “I want SHINee’s “Replay” because it doesn’t get old, even after several years have passed. Even when I listen to it now, it’s still chic. At the time, during our ‘Mirotic‘ promotions, I told SHINee frequently, ‘I really want your song. It should have been ours.’”
Yunhoadded, “If we’d taken the song, the title wouldn’t have been the same. It fits with SHINee, and I really like the song too. [If we get a chance to perform it one day] I would wear a wig to resembleTaemin.Changmin, you could beKeyorJonghyun,” making the interviewer laugh.
In the interview, TVXQ also proudly considered the success ofGirls’ GenerationandSuper Junior‘s overseas, and also stressed that “Being persistent and earnest is how we’ve been able to develop contents and improve.”
On the topic ofhoobaegroups Yunho commented,“All the hoobae groups are good. Their skills as well as their performances are top notch. There is something we told the hoobae groups in our agency likeEXO-K,EXO-M, and SHINee. We told them that nowadays skills are of course a given and it is their individuality that is the most important. Skills are dependent on the amount of effort you put into it. I am the living example. (laughs) However, if you are not aware of your own color, you’ll never be able to incorporate it as your own. It is the most important that you find and incorporate a color that is unique to you.”
The group then went on to listCNBLUEandF.T. Islandas the two groups that they have kept their eyes on outside ofSM Entertainment.
Yunho praised,“CNBLUE and F.T. Island are our musical friends as well as part of the Kyu line (which is an unofficial group that boasts members like CNBLUE’s Jonghyun, TVXQ’s Changmin, Super Junior’s Kyukyun, and SHINee’s Minho). Haha! I’m kidding, it’s because both groups perform a lot, and also think of and write their own songs, so I’ve kept an eye on them.”
