[ASKKPOP] Suhyun reveals her thoughts on working with Yoo Hee Yeol (Toy) for 'Da Capo'
Suhyun said, "I heard that it's not common forYGartists to work with artists from other companies. In terms of musicality, seniorYoon Jong Shin, Yoo Hee Yeol, andLee Jukare our (Akdong Musician) role models and we aspire to grow and become like them as artists. One day, CEOYang Hyun Suktold me that Toy was releasing an album after seven years (since his last album) and had personally asked me to sing in it."
The rookie singer then expressed her gratitude for the opportunity and revealed, "I thought, 'Woohoo. This is awesome. The person who made 'A Passionate Goodbye,' is asking for me?' I said, 'Thank you,' and worked really hard."
She continued, "It was the first time that I was singing at a different company. When I was there, I met withSam Kimalong withKwon Jin Ahand we ate and sang together. The working atmosphere was very different from YG's. Yoo Hee Yeol personally took on the producing role but because previously I've only worked with my brother (Lee Chan Hyuk), I was quite nervous about embarrassing myself by making a lyrical mistake or have weird sounds come out."
Suhyun continued, "But (with Yoo Hee Yeol) he let me do anything I wanted. When I said, 'I'll do it again,' we did it again, and when I said, 'I think that it's okay,' he would also respond with, 'I like this too,' it was very comfortable. The lyrics are also very innocent. It was the first time for me to sing a song like that so I was a bit nervous but I hope that the fans would like it."
The young singer also added, "Honestly, I wasn't aware of the track list at first but I was surprised to find that the song was third on the list. When I bragged about it to my brother he told me, 'That's incredible.'"
