Style Breakdown: B.A.P’s “Stop It”

B.A.P‘s fashion in “Stop It” goes two ways- backwards to blonde hair, and forwards to new clothes.  No longer the ‘pop boys’ of “No Mercy“, the guys are trying out a hipster concept this time around.

PoorYongguk.  You look so happy with your sandwich- you don’t know you’re about to get hit by a car and die.  Oh well, at least you look good!  Mixing patterns isn’t always easy, but one way to do it is by using differently-scaled patterns, like how Yongguk’s shirt has a big, wide-set, abstract pattern and his vest has a small, busy pattern.  The red pants keep the pallet interesting.

Most people will tell you not to mix black or grey with brown, but when you’ve got both colors in one item, it’s okay.Daehyun‘s jacket is cut like a blazer, but the leather sleeves make it seem more like a varsity jacket.  He’s also wearing a fitted button-down with a long, skinny tie, and patterned pants.

It was hard to get a good shot ofYoungjae‘s outfit, but here you can at least see his bright blue sweater with zipper details at the shoulder seams, white button-down, and unusual, grey, plaid tie.  Not shown are his cropped, cuffed jeans and striped socks.  Fully committed to this super preppy look, Youngjae also wears wire-rim glasses, which is a nice change from the thick-rimmed glasses we usually see idols wearing.

The focal point of Daehyun’s outfit here is the sequinned sweatshirt, which was made by the same designer as the sparkly tracksuit on ‘Secret Garden. He wears it with a navy, hooded, zip-front vest that features red, white, and blue striped lining inside of the hood, and gives the outfit a little color witha  red tee shirt and gold cross pendant.

I’m not really sure what’s going on with Zelo’s outfit here- he’s wearing a beanie that comes to two points (~13 USD) with colored safety pins for decoration, a black and white striped shirt, green gloves and a green scarf, and what looks like a crossing guard vest made into a bib.

Youngjae has a lot of layers on here- a white tee, a gold shirt, a blue and white windbreaker, and a chunky, grey, knit vest.  He’s got a bunch of chain/ribbon combo bracelets on one arm, and a headband full of safety pins.

Here, Jongup wears a red and white striped tee shirt, a denim jacket with a fur-lined hood, and a necklace made of bungee cords.

Korean piercers must train differently than American piercers, because I see a lot of idols with piercings much lower on their lobes than an American piercer would place them- Yongguk’s hexagon earring looks like it’s about to fall off!  He wears a metallic tee, a dark hoodie, and a red, white, and blue camo pattern jacket.

Himchan’s Givenchy shirt was recently the topic ofthis “Who Wore it Better” article, and a similar shirt is availableherefor ~265 USD.

For the group shots, the guys wore bedazzled beige outfits with white tees.  Beige and khaki are going to be really popular colors this spring.

We can’t forget our female lead!  In most of her scenes, she wears a beige top with a mandarin collar under a white, collarless button-front blouse with the buttons hidden in the placket, a pleated khaki skirt, and a pink cardigan with beige pumps.  In her final scene, she just wears a white shirtdress.

My favorite look in this video is Youngjae’s outfit with the blue sweater and glasses- I love the funky little details with the zippers and tie.  My least favorite has to be Zelo’s outfit with the green hat and gloves.  What are your favorite looks?  Do you like B.A.P’s new style?
