[ASKKPOP] Netizens select the rookie girl group members that can't sing

Countless rookie girl groups have debuted in the past year, some leaving impressions with their visuals, their concepts, or their vocals. Inevitably, there are bound to be members within rookie groups who pull most of the weight in terms of the vocals, as the other members may not quite possess the vocal range that they do.

A netizen recently uploaded a post listing all the rookie girl group members whose vocals haven't improved at all, or whose vocals are just plain...bad. You may or may not agree with the netizen after reading his/her evaluations, so be sure to share your thoughts in the comments below.

Here is what the netizen wrote:

Red Velvet'sYeri+Irene

"During'Ice Cream Cake'promotions, I thought it was because it was their first stage but she couldn't even swallow her few easy lines in 'Dumb Dumb' (the part where you're unsure whether it's rapping or singing)."

"Like Yeri, she can't sing so she's given mostly rap lines but she can't even do that right...there is no improvement in her 'Dumb Dumb' rap from her rap in 'Ice Cream Cake'; her rapping sounds the same."

Lovelyz'sYoo Ji Ae,Seo Ji Soo+Jeong Ye In

"She's one of the members that was a trainee for the longest time along with Baby Soul, for 4~5 years, but I have no idea what she was practicing during that period. She's worst singer in Lovelyz."

"I understand that she had a hard time due to the rumors, but like Yoo Ji Ae, she's known for not being able to hold her notes. During 'Ah-Choo' promotions, I thought, 'Maybe it's because it's her first time on stage,' like I did with Yeri...but she hasn't improved the tiniest bit for 'For You' (not only that, she continuously makes choreo mistakes ㅠㅠ)."

"I think she's better than Yoo Ji Ae or Seo Ji Soo but she still can't sing..ㅠ There are people who say that they feel awakened when they hear [Jung Ye In's] part in a Lovelyz song. She does have a nice tone so I hope that she would work on her vocals a bit more."

Oh My Girl'sJinE+Arin

"I don't know if it'sbecausethe part in 'Closer' [was too hard] but I felt that she fell behind [as compared to the other members] (whenHyojungsang the same part, she was fine). When I saw them on a music show, JinE's part felt a little unstable."

"Arin's singing also sounds a bit unstable..like she can only sing really short parts with a couple of words? Maybe it's because she's young but she definitely needs more practice."

Everyone inG-FriendexceptYujuandEunha

"It can't be helped that the other members seem to be lacking since Yuju shoulders a majority of the singing parts. But I can't say that the other members excluding Eunha will be good even if they step out of Yuju's shadow. Please continue to work hard!!"

TWICE'sTzuyu,Momo+Dahyun

"There may be difficulties in trying to sing in Korean since they're foreigners but I hope they will overcome and improve; after all, they debuted as singers in Korea. I hope they'll work hard to break the perception that TWICE's foreign members can't sing."

"I thought Dahyun was a rapper but I found out that she's only a rapper because she can't sing..I haven't heard her singing for myself but I hope she practices her rapping so she won't fall behind Chaeyoung."

Some of the top comments on the post read, "There seems to be a lot of people who don't like Yoo Ji Ae's voice," "Why don't you write about male idols for once, sh*t. There are always posts about how cute and handsome male idols are but for female idols, you are always sh*tting on them tsk tsk retards," "But when I hear Irene singing on Music Bank, I think her tone is pretty good..she seems to be improving!!" "Ah, seriously, I hate hearing Irene and Yeri rap; they're trying to rap when they can't even breathe right or have the proper breathing techniques. They can't even do the short narration style raps right."
