Netizens point out unruly behaviors of 'Youth Over Flowers - Africa' stars + controversial language

PopulartvNvariety show 'Youth Over Flowers - Africa' is facing controversy for its latest episode on March 11.



The first controversy revolves around the current stars appearing on the show, actors from tvN drama 'Reply 1988' includingRyu Joon Yeol,Park Bo Gum,Go Kyung Pyo, andAhn Jae Hong. On the episode, the four male actors went swimming at the public pools located inside their dorm facility and proceeded to take off their underwear under water, throwing them and waving them around.


TheKorean Entertainment Management Association(KEMA) has since issued an official statement, relaying that they were currently in the stages of reviewing whether or not this portion of 'Youth Over Flowers - Africa' was fit for broadcast.


The second controversy revolves around tvN's usage of the term'Tokko Tai'as a caption during the show. 'Tokko Tai' is the term used to refer to the suicide missions Japanese Kamikaze pilots used during World War II and is also to be used in modern day Japan to refer to people who are alone or isolated. However, netizens pointed out that the variety show was indecently using Japanese expressions on a Korean broadcast.
