[ASKKPOP] Big Bang's Seungri cast in his first Japanese drama

Big Bang'sSeungriis doing great in Japan. He just wrapped up his first solo fan meeting in Japan and now he has been cast in a Japanese drama.

On September 1, it was announced that Seungri would appear in the upcomingNihon TVspecial drama "Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo  -  Hongkong Kowloon Treasure Murder Case" that will be broadcast in the winter.

The series is based off of the popular manga that started in 1992 as a serial in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha).  The manga has been adapted to dramas several times, and continues to garner a huge following even after welcoming their 20th anniversary.  Using the episode published on the July 11 issue as its base, the original writer of the story in the series,Amaki Seimaru, will, for the first time ever, write the script for the drama.  The drama revolves around a fashion show in Hong Kong thatKindaichi Hajiime's childhood friendMiyukiattends.

Along with Seungri, who will play a Korean exchange studentKim London, the drama starsHey! Say! JUMP'sYamada Ryosuke,popular Taiwanese actressVivian Hsu(37), Taiwanese idol groupFarenheit's former memberWu Zun(Wu Chun)who will play Taiwanese security policeLi Byron, and famous Taiwanese actor and MCEric Tsang. In addition, other Japanese cast members include Hey! Say! JUMP'sArioka Daiki, who will play Kindaichi's reliable junior and "video camera otaku"Saki RyujiandKiritani Kenta, who will play "Tokyo  Girly Mode" managerTakigawa Ryuta.

Seungri has been promoting solo in Japan since July for a 3-month run as a regular onFuji TV's 'Sakigake! Ongaku Bangjuke Eight' as well as his own variety show 'V.I from Big Bang'.
