‘Voice Korea’ winner Son Seung Yeon to release debut album this month
Mnet‘s ‘Voice Korea‘ winnerSon Seung Yeonhas announced that she will finally be releasing her debut album.
Directed under coach Shin Seung Hoon on the show, Son Seung Yeon came away with the title of grand winner after receiving four consecutive weeks of nothing but applause for her vocal talent. This month, she will be coming back into public light with her debut album, ‘The Wings of an Ugly Duck‘.
The album is the work of ‘My Last Audition‘ judge and hit composerPark Geun Taeand contains a total of six tracks, including her title track, “Heart, Heart“. The title track is expected to complete a trio of the composer’s biggest past hits, which includeBaek Ji Young‘s “I Won’t Love” andIvy‘s “If You’re Going to Be Like This“.
Producer Park Geun Tae stated,“It’s hard to believe that she’s only 20 years old with the emotional control she has over herself. There’s a lot of hidden potential in her that makes her an artist people should look forward to.”
Universal Music, the production company behind the album, also stated,“To step away from the obvious paths that audition turned artists usually take, we tried to include a variety of genres like pop, jazz, R&B, and electronic rock so that music lovers all around the world can find something they like. Fans can also look forward to Son Seung Yeon’s rap.”
Her album is scheduled for release on October 23rd.
