TWICE Shares What It’s Like To Record With Park Jin Young
TWICE recently sat down for an interview and discussed their newest mini album “What Is Love?” on the April 10 broadcast of SBS’s “Night of Real Entertainment.”
Their title track of the same name is the group’s first title track produced and written by Park Jin Youngsince “Signal.”
During the interview, the members shared what it was like to work with their agency’s founder. Jungyeon revealed, “He makes us sing the whole song. This is to distribute each part to whoever matches it well.”
Dahyun explained, “Whenever we record, he’ll give us a score. For example, he’ll say, ’98 points. Let’s do it one more time since missing those two points is a waste. He’ll keep saying [things like this].”
“When we’re recording, he’ll create a scenario for us,” Chaeyoung said. “He’ll say, ‘You’re somewhere and you’re looking for something. Try to express those emotions!'” Jungyeon jokingly added, “He tells us to do it as if we were talking, but we’re singing so how can we act like we’re talking?”
TWICE also talked about the different movie characters they portrayed, such as how Chaeyoung transformed into Matilda from the French film “Léon” and Jihyo reenacted a scene from the Japanese movie “Love Letter.”
The girl group will be continuing with their promotions for “What Is Love?” which has been sweeping charts domestically and internationally. Its music video also recently reached 20 million views in record time for a girl group.
