[ASKKPOP] Song Jong Kook's wife Park Ip Sun & rapper JQ ask the public to view little Ji Ah's upcoming single release in a positive light
In response, Rapper JQ, who produced Ji Ah's upcoming song, and Ji Ah's mom Park Ip Sun, have spoken up to shoot down such speculations. JQ told MyDaily,"It's not like an official debut, and I'm definitely not trying to use Ji Ah for business purposes."
Park Ip Sun also commented,"I'm upset that my daughter's sincerity is being misinterpreted... It's not an official debut as a rapper, it's just one song... Debut is an awkward word for us, especially since we don't know if she'll continue hip hop or not in the future. An 8 year old child does not simply sing because her parents told her to. Ji Ah is one who is very clear about her opinions and will refuse to do anything she doesn't want to do. She is someone who is the most happy when she sings. Even while she was recording this, she sang for hours, never once taking off her headphones, despite being drenched with sweat. It's only because she likes music. Wherever she goes, she always has music on. Please don't judge her by comparing her to the term rapper."
Park Ip Sun also revealed that the recording of the song was not something that had actually been planned out in advance. She had simply brought Ji Ah along when she went to visit her friend JQ at the recording studio. There, Ji Ah just happened to show interest in recording and received instructions from JQ. After going there everyday after that to record the song, Ji Ah decided she wanted to share her song with others, to kids her age."We hope everyone will be able to listen to her song and feel happy,"Ji Ah's mom stated.
In response to speculations about whether this was done to bring in profit from music sales, she said,"It's true that Ji Ah got her chance earlier than most people due to us, her parents, who are active on broadcast. However, we can't block her from doing what she enjoys doing. Ji Ah told me that she thinks people will be happy when they hear her song. She was just fascinated by the idea that other people could listen to the song that she sang. Are we going to be making money from this? She's not going to release a physical album and she's not going to be standing on stage. They also say the money from digital sales is hardly anything. If we were really thinking of money first then we would have never left 'Dad Where Are You Going' and would have kept continuing with the show. This upcoming song was Ji Ah's choice. Please look at its significance in a positive light."
As mentioned previously, Ji Ah herself is said to have participated in writing the lyrics to her song "Follow Me", which was produced by JQ. It's currently scheduled for release on the 17th!
