Julien Kang arrested in underwear

It was reported yesterday that model-actorJulien Kangwas apprehended last Thursday for loitering on the streets in the Gangnam District area, wearing only his underwear.

The Suseo Police Precinct said yesterday that Kang, 32, was arrested around 3 p.m. on Sept. 18 in Yeoksam-dong, southern Seoul, after a passerby called the police. When officers arrived at the site, Kang was located one kilometer (0.62 miles) away from his home.

The French-Canadian Kang was then taken to a nearby police station until he was discharged, the authorities said.

The police further stated that they conducted a drug test on Kang on Wednesday. The results were negative, but they added that they are planning to request a more thorough investigation with the National Forensic Service.

Kang's agency, Show Brothers Entertainment, released a press statement yesterday morning saying that the actor was heavily drunk and unconscious when the case occurred. It asserted that Kang did not take drugs.

Ilgan Sports, an affiliate of the Korea JoongAng Daily, reported yesterday that the agency warned through a telephone interview that it would take legal action against those who spread false rumors.

Paparazzi photos ofKang Inhis underclothes were exclusively revealed yesterday by online news outlet Dispatch.

Kang rose to stardom in 2010 for his supporting role in the hit MBC sitcom "High Kick Through The Roof" (2010).
