"Clothing and Fashion"

Modern Korean culture is exciting and vibrant; it's constantly changing to reflect these globalised times, but is at the same time still proudly representing its unique traditions and rich historical aesthetic. We're seeing this through its films, dramas, food, and, of course, its fashion! Here is a short introductory feature on Korean clothing and fashion from Korea.net to get you started?

"Since their settlement in prehistoric times on the land now known as the Korean Peninsula, the Korean people have developed a wealth of unique cultural traditions related to the way they dress, eat, and behave at home. These traditions reflect the natural environment of their homeland, a terrain predominately covered by hills and mountains, bound by the sea on three sides and marked by four distinct seasons"

"Korean Music Industry Forum: Global expansion of Korean music industry, examples and strategies"

Korea's music empire has to stay nimble if it wishes to keep expanding its global fan base, and so last Thursday the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Korea Creative Content Agency opened the third Korean Music Industry Forum to discuss Korea's impact and future in international playground. This year the topic was: "The examples and strategies of global expansion of Korean music industry".

Here's how Choi Yoo Kyung's (translated by Nora Maaniemi for the Korea Blog) coverage concluded:

"Of course, it is a fact that it will take time until the Korean Wave will be more diverse, but if the fans of Korean culture keep their interest up, cheer for their idols, and continue to show their love towards Korea, definitely there will be positive effects to the system resulting that the overseas fans will also be more diverse, and everyone can soon enjoy more differentiated Korean music".
