2013 CES Wrap-up: Korean Leads the Innovation Pack with OLEDs, Robots and Audio

The 2013 Consumer Electronics Show was a four-day bonanza of newgadgetsand gizmos. Korean companies certainly impressed and we're eager to give you AT&D's final wrap-up of the best innovations as well as some items that surprised and intrigued us.

Samsung

The S9 UHD TV was one of the highlights ofSamsung'sbooth. At 85 inches, it's the world's largest ultra-high def 4K TV and looks like it's floating in a stand-up easel frame. Another TV that we can't wait to get our hands on is the 55-inch OLED TV with multi-view.

We were surprised and excited by the upgraded Samsung's Series 7 Chronos notebook, complete with touchscreen capabilities, Windows 8 and a promised 11.6-hour battery life. The computing power and graphics are so powerful that we'd even recommend it to gamers.

The 55-inch OLED TV was enough to blow us away, but LG gave us a glimpse into the future with the world's first curved OLED TV! The 55-inch EA9800 has a screen with a gentle inward flex that promises clear edge-to-edge viewing from any angle. Samsung also unveiled a curved OLED screen of its own at CES, proving that Korean companies are some of the most dynamic market leaders in tech.

Patchworks

We instantly took a liking toPatchwork'sgorgeous smartphone cases made from materials like wood and leather. Patchworks also showed off an inventive side with cases that incorporate the same carbon fiber used in space shuttles. If you're as clumsy as one of the Three Stooges, we suggest getting a top-grade smartphone case like the ones from Patchworks.
