Wanna One’s Lai Guan Lin Receives Praise For His Professionalism Dealing With Wardrobe Malfunction

Wanna One’s Lai Guan Lin is receiving praise for his professionalism during a wardrobe malfunction during the 2018 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).

The Japanese leg of Mnet’s awards ceremony, titled 2018 MAMA Fans’ Choice in Japan, was held on December 12 at the Saitama Super Arena.

During the event, Wanna One performed “Light,” “Boomerang,” and “I.P.U.” The members of wowed with their powerful choreography, but during “Boomerang,” member Lai Guan Lin suffered a wardrobe malfunction. While performing a dance move that involved spreading his legs, Lai Guan Lin’s pants ripped and exposed a part of his thigh.

Though he initially seemed taken aback by the situation, Lai Guan Lin showcased a great amount of professionalism as he continued his performance as though nothing had happened.

His conduct was met with praise from the general public, with some saying that they hadn’t noticed that something had happened because Lai Guan Lin kept calm throughout the situation. They shared comments like, “He handled the situation well,” “I thought that was just the design of the pants,” and “His facial expression didn’t change and he was focusing on the stage so much that I didn’t even notice.”

Wanna One will also be performing in Hong Kong for 2018 MAMA on December 14.
