Highlight’s Lee Gikwang and Hoya are optimistic about upcoming variety show “Dancing High”

On September 7, a press conference was held for the show with Just Jerk, Lia Kim, Highlight’s Lee Gikwang, Hoya, and WINNER’s Lee Seung Hoon in attendance, along with producing director (PD) Lee Seung Gun.

During the event, Hoya stated, “These days, I’m watching it everyday with the kids. While I’m watching them, their innocence is so adorable and I feel jealous of their passion.”

He continued, “Because I’m filming for a drama right now, I’ll film from 5 a.m. into the late night, but I’ll still go to the practice room to see the kids practicing. Even if my body hurts and I feel tired, just by watching them, I feel good enough to forget about that.”

He added on, “I think I actually learn more from the kids. These days, it’s really great.”

Lee Gikwang also expressed his thoughts. He stated, “Before starting this program, I thought that they’d still have much to learn because they’re so young, or that they wouldn’t fully meet all my expectations. But that was a careless thought. I was able to truly feel that Korea’s teenagers these days are very good at dancing. I also thought that Korea’s future in dancing is bright.”

He continued, “I also wondered if I would’ve been able to dance as well as these kids if it had been the dancing me of the past. I don’t think I could’ve done it. I felt happy seeing the kids. I felt happy while coaching them and seeing their rough-around-the-edges selves.”

“Dancing High” will premiere this September 7 at 11 p.m. KST.
