EXO drops long-time reigning kings BTS to second place in brand value

The Korea Institute of Corporate Reputation has released the brand value data for K-Pop boy groups, covering a period spanning from August 12 through September 13. 


The boy groups were based on participation value, communication value, and an overall brand value, resulting in the ranking ofEXO,BTS, and thenSeventeenin the top three places.  They were followed byVIXX, Big Bang, INFINITE, BTOb, SHINee, B2ST, Block B, Sechskies, ZE:A, 2PM, Super Junior, B1A4, MONSTA X, B.A.P, TVXQ, WINNER, 2AM, TEEN TOP, F.T Island, Shinhwa, andJYJ.  




EXO had a participation value of 1.53 million but a communication value of 4.88 million, resulting in a total of about 6.41 million.  They had risen about 348.63% from August! They were only a little ahead of BTS who had a participation value of 2.65 million but a communication value of 3.75 million, resulting in a total brand value of about 6.40 million when averaged up.  They had increased by 13.76% from last month.


Seventeen had 638,300; 2.30 million; and 2.94 million respectively for an overall increase of 30.77%.  You can see the full list in the ranking below.  


Director Goo Chang Hwan of the Korea Institute of Corporate Reputation stated,"The results of the September analysis for the brand value of boy groups show that BTS, which has protected its top ranking for a long time, has dropped down to second.  EXO, which took first, are receiving good results in various music chart rankings, and while preparing the collaboration stage withYoo Jae Suk, they grabbed a lot of attention from consumers."
