Actor Lee Jong Suk recently made a meaningful donation to a worthy cause.

According to the international aid and development organization Good Neighbors on April 12, Lee Jong Suk donated 100 million won (about $93,300) to support families and children in crisis situations.

Earlier this year, Lee Jong Suk had held an exhibition and bazaar titled “Dream With Us” to commemorate the eighth year since his debut. He had prepared the bazaar himself over the period of a year, selling accessories, shoes, and clothes that he had worn on set to raise money for charity. He also participated in the charity art project “W Project” with his acquaintances and other designers, creative directors, and actors in 2016. The donated 100 million won include the proceeds from these charity projects as well as his own personal contribution.

From the start of his charity bazaar, Lee Jong Suk had expressed the desire to use the proceeds to benefit children who needed help. The donation will go to the project “Human Documentary Love Plus” (literal translation), a joint project between Good Neighbors and MBC Dramanet that aims to benefit children and families within Korea who are facing crisis by supporting the cost of medical care, housing, and education.

Hwang Sung Joo, the director of the marketing department at Good Neighbors, stated, “We are sincerely grateful for the love that Lee Jong Suk and his fans have shown to our cause. Through specialized welfare service, we will work to support children in crisis in the country who are caught between poverty and needing medical care.”
