[ASKKPOP] iKON accused of plagiarizing its logo from a biking company + YG Next Creator responds

From clashes with 'M! Countdown' to dissing other idols, rookie group iKONhas been attracting controversies left and right ever since their debut. This time, a Korean biking company is accusing the group for allegedly plagiarizing their logo.

On October 12, 'Unknown Bike co Korea' wrote on their official Facebook page, "Doesn't this look too similar to a logo that you see around a lot these days? Even if people say that it is similar, we believe that it is possible to create similar designs so we didn't take any action. Our company has no intentions of fighting. We want to believe that there are designs that are similar anywhere. We just want people to know that we were the first ones to have created this design.

According to 'Unknown Bike co Korea,' their new logo, inspired by the South Korean flag, was created in May 2015.

In response to the passively addressed accusation above, YG Next Creatorhas reached out to the company, giving a detailed report on how and when iKON's logo was first created. YG Next Creator also wrote on their Facebook page along with multiple screenshots of their logo planning process.

Once receiving YG Entertainment's detailed file and email, 'Unknown Bike co Korea's CEOKimNak Youngrevised his initial post, acknowledging and apologizing for their hasty accusations.

He wrote, "This is in regards to last night's post on the trigram inspired logo. YG Entertainment has contacted us and we have confirmed that (iKON's) logo was completed back in August 2014. As I have stated in the initial post, we were just curious as to how their design was created in the first place and had no intentions of fighting.

"Since YG has explained that their logo was inspired by the South Korean flag, we see this as something that happens often. We apologize to YG Entertainment for our ignorance that caused damage to the image of a big company.

"Please see this as a small incident between two companies who have created their designs out of patriotism."
