[ASKKPOP] Seo Taiji talks about his dreams as an artist on 'Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook'

On the October 31 airing ofKBS's'Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook,' legendary rocker and artistSeo Taijitalked about his past days as a youth and his dreams as an artist.

Yoo Hee Yeol asked the rocker, "What is the reason for choosing [to appear on] 'Sketchbook'?" to which Seo Taiji answered frankly, "This is the number one music program where you can have serious discussions and comfortably perform your music. I know this to be true."

Yoo Hee Yeol then answered proudly, "You'll only find live talks like this on 'Sketchbook'."

Seo Taiji continued, "My original dream was to become a bassist. It was something that I had decided since I was in middle school. But honestly, I just wanted to graduate elementary school. I wanted to have the title of 'guk-jol' (elementary graduate) but it didn't work out. The title, 'Joong-jo,' (middle school graduate) is a bit awkward."

When Seo Taiji was asked what his dream is now, the artist answered, "I want my fans to hear my songs and communicate with them until I get old, but it's very difficult."

Seo Taiji continued to express his simple and conservative dreams and briefly mentioned his philosophy on creating good music. He said, "I believe that rather than having a big dream, if you think simply and comfortably than you can make a better dream. I want to live like that. I was very nervous today too but the expressions on everyone's faces in front of me seem like they are encouraging me, so it's giving me strength."

MC Yoo Hee Yeol then pleaded the artist to come join him on the show more often. However, the artist respectfully declined but then promised, "I can't come out often but if I were to release a new album, I will come out."
