Pyo Ye Jin revealed impressed with 2PM’s Chansung as an actor

The actress played Kim Ji Ah, a rookie secretary under Kim Mi So (Park Min Young) who inadvertently helps Lee Young Joon (Park Seo Joon) and Kim Mi So’s relationship progress.

“Honestly, I didn’t know that I would take on an important role in this drama,” Pyo Ye Jin confessed. “The script described Kim Ji Ah as just a ‘rookie secretary.’ I thought I would just cause accidents at the most.”

The actress went on to talk about how she tried to portray Kim Ji Ah, and that she was quite similar to her character in many ways. Pyo Ye Jin added, “Just like how Ji Ah looked up to Mi So, I also wanted to be like Park Min Young.”

Kim Ji Ah also had her own romance with Chansung’s character Go Gwi Nam, which became a highlight of the drama in its own right. Go Gwi Nam and Kim Ji Ah were not only colleagues, but also neighbors. While they were originally on bad terms, they slowly started opening their hearts after learning about each other’s inner struggles.

The actress revealed, “I knew there would be a love line from the start and I knew there was a character called Go Gwi Nam.” She added, “I did wonder if [Kim Ji Ah] could actually become a couple with Gwi Nam because they bickered so much. They need to be interested for a love line to actually happen, but they hated each other so much in the beginning. However, I believed it would still happen and waited.”

On acting with an idol, Pyo Ye Jin expressed, “It’s really fascinating. He’s the type to work extremely hard, and I couldn’t think of him as an idol when he’s actually acting. He just seemed like someone who acts with me, but also happens to hold fan meetings and perform.”

She also revealed that some of the cast had gone to see Chansung in his musical “Smoke.” “He was so cool that I was surprised,” the actress shared. “It made me want to try act on stage as well. I’m horrible at singing so I wouldn’t be able to do musicals, but I do want to try plays.”

On what “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” means to her, Pyo Ye Jin expressed, ‘It seemed like a gift. It was such a good working atmosphere, to the point I wonder if I can ever have that again. I only have good memories.”
