Most Customers Still Prefer Korean Beef

About one-third of homemakers will continue to purchase domestic beef despite price hikes, according to a recent poll by the Rural Development Administration.

Of the 747 people surveyed, 33.6 percent preferred Korean beef, while 36.7 percent said they would buy both Korean and imported beef.

Another 23 percent said they would opt for other types of meat, and 6.7 percent said they would not buy meat at all.

Currently, domestic beef makes up 69.3 percent of all sales.

For preference among imported beef, 48.5 percent chose Australian beef, 8.2 percent U.S. beef, 5.2 percent New Zealander beef and 3.1 percent Canadian beef.
