MOMOLAND’s agency has addressed a supposed leak of the group’s not-yet released title track “BAAM” that has been making its way around the interwebs.

Suspicions about the audio of the track being leaked arose when a fan uploaded a dance cover to the song. While it has not yet been officially released, a significant portion of the music video that included what appears to be the chorus of “BAAM” had been shown during the end credits of a MBC variety show on June 21. (The same audio portion was later revealed at midnight KST on June 22 through a highlight medley.)

On June 22, a source from the agency stated that there was no leak of the full track and that they believe that fans already covering “BAAM” is indicative of a good response.

“A part of the unreleased track ‘BAAM’ is being spread and there are already people filming cover dances. People have been calling the agency and bringing up their suspicions that the track had been leaked. However, this is not true,” the source explained. “After looking into the matter, it is not that the unreleased track has been leaked, but rather that the audio from the part of the music video that was shown at the end of a variety show is being used.”

The source also clarified that the MV clip shown was intentional, saying, “Revealing a rough cut of a portion from the music video on a variety show before the release was a part of our promotions. We want to state that the audio was not illegally leaked. We sincerely thank you for your continuous love and interest.”

MOMOLAND will be returning with “BAAM” and their fourth mini album “Fun to the World” on June 26.
