BLACKPINK Comments On Changes Since Their Debut And Their Importance To Each Other

BLACKPINK has showcased their diverse charms through High Cut magazine.

The four members posed stylishly in various dresses, sneakers, colorful leggings, and over-sized shirts.

In the interview following the photo shoot, the members were asked what was the biggest change since their debut two years ago. Jisoo responded, “We gained a sense of responsibility to meet the fans’ expectations. Before we debuted, we simply wished there was a stage we could perform on and that we just had fans, and we wondered if they would like us or not. Now, we feel like we have to make a lot of effort to satisfy more people.”

When asked if they ever missed Korea while promoting in Japan, Lisa replied, “There were times when I wanted to eat Korean ramen. I like Japanese food. I like sushi, tempura, and rice bowls. However, I found myself thinking, ‘This would be perfect with [Korean] ramen and kimchi.'”

On when they felt the most grateful to each recently, Jennie answered, “We each had personal time to ourselves for awhile, then when we got together in a room to chat for our promotions, it felt like the switch of unity was turned on. It was reassuring that we were on the same wavelength even if we had been apart. Since the members are each doing their parts, I feel responsible, as well.”

Rosé shared, “The members are very important people in my life. Sometimes we’re friends, sometimes we’re family, and we can also learn from each other and grow. When I have a hard time, I go to Jisoo in the next room, and I go to same-aged Lisa to talk about aspects we empathize about. When I need advice, I go to Jennie. In many ways, we influence each other positively.”
